Afripol’s Director presents a paper at Premier Sub Saharan Africa Oil and Gas Conference in Houston

The principal strategist and director of Afripol Organization, Mr. Emeka Chiakwelu made a paper presentation at the Premier Sub Saharan Africa Oil and Gas Conference held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston on Monday June 16th. The conference organized by Energy & Corporate Africa was a 3-day conference that attracted senior energy policymakers from governments, investors and investment bankers, risk managers and local content advisers from Africa, Europe, Australia and North America.
                                                                                                                                                                 The theme of the three-day conference is "Investment opportunities, partnership challenges in the oil and gas industries in Sub Saharan Africa and outcomes of local content policy."

Mr. Chiakwelu of Afripol presented a paper on the first day of the conference titled "Opportunities in oil and Gas industries in West Africa sub-region." Chiakwelu elucidated the significant of local contents in Nigeria and said, “Risk analysis and risk management must be given a top priority in West Africa especially at Niger delta." Chiakwelu spoke about quantifiable peace in Niger delta, which he delineated as a peace necessary for oil exploration to continue, and the rudimentary conflict resolution that indigenes of Niger Delta deemed acceptable.
The CEO of Energy & Corporate Africa, Sunny Oputa said the conference was initiated "to bring about innovative ideas and opportunities in oil and gas industries." The conference did deliver on its theme.
