Zumunta Association Honors Mr. Emeka Chiakwelu   01/28/08
The Zumunta Association USA Inc presents an appreciation award to the director of Afripol organization, Mr. Emeka Chiakwelu for the presentation he made at the Zumunta Association 14th annual convention. The convention was held at Houston, Texas USA in July 28, 2007.
The theme of the convention was : Eradication of the malaria in Nigeria. Many August visitors were present including the Nigerian UN Ambassador and Permeant Representative, His Excellency Alhaji Aminu B. Wali, Alhaji Ibrahim Auwalu, Consulate General of Nigeria in New York, The first lady of Benue state, Mrs Akume and host of important personalities from Nigeria and other parts of America.

Mr. Chiakwelu presented a paper on the control and eradication of malaria titled: MALARIA: A COMMUNITY NIGHTMARE, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN ROLLING BACK MALARIA (RBM).
“Formed in 1991 in New York , Zumunta Association USA Inc., is a tax-exempt 501(c), progressive, fast-growing, non-profit and non-political organization of Northern Nigerians based in the United States. With solid, down-to-the-earth objectives, Zumunta aspires to help develop the North technologically, socially, and economically; cater for its members, preserve the rich and diverse culture of Nigeria, and improve the image of the country in the global arena. Toward this end, the organization has, in its short life span, undertaken several projects at chapter, national and international levels.”
