Former U.S. Representative and son of Civil Right Leader, Jesse Jackson Jr. "has been charged with spending $750,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses. His wife was charged with filing false income tax forms. Federal prosecutors filed a charge of conspiracy against the former congressman and charged his wife, Sandra, with one count of filing false joint federal income tax returns for the years 2006 through 2011," according to news report from Associate Press.

In a released statement the former congressman took full responsibility for his actions without giving any excuses for his conduct and misbehavior.
His statement reads: “Over the course of my life I have come to realize that none of us are immune from our share of shortcomings and human frailties," Jackson said in the statement released by the attorneys representing him in the federal probe.
"Still I offer no excuses for my conduct and I fully accept my responsibility for the improper decisions and mistakes I have made," he said. "To that end I want to offer my sincerest apologies to my family, my friends and all of my supporters for my errors in judgment and while my journey is not yet complete, it is my hope that I am remembered for the things that I did right.”
Sandi Jackson, the wife of Jesse Jackson Jr., and a former Chicago Alderman was also charged with filing less income than she made with IRS and falsifying tax returns.
